Your Appeal Rights
A refused visa or residence permit application is serious but not final. You have legal rights to appeal the decision through several official channels.
📚 UK Legal reference: Under the Immigration Act 1971, you have the right to appeal a visa refusal to the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) within 14 to 28 days depending on the type of visa.
Steps to Appeal
Step 1: Administrative appeal to the authority
Formal letter requesting reconsideration. Free and without a lawyer.
Step 2: Hierarchical appeal
If the first appeal is rejected.
Step 3: Court appeal
Within the legal time limit. May require a lawyer.
Step 4: Emergency injunction
To suspend enforcement while the case is being heard.
